The Ranger is leaking oil where the oil pan and transmission housing meet. Where they come together, there is oil on the metal that encloses the transmission housing, and oil on side of the oil pan. When I wiped off the oil on the very bottom of the metal enclosure, oil leaked on the metal at a very slow pace.

I checked the valve cover gasket, oil filter, and oil pan bolts for leaks, but they are ok.

Thanks for your assitance.

You either have a rear main seal on the motor, or front seal on the transmission leaking. You need to determine if it is motor oil or Transmission fluid. Tranny fliud should be redish in color. Either way, the transmission must be removed to replace them.
