Good day,

I am having 2 issues. Over the past month and a half my truck has been shutting off while driving. Doesn't matter where I am or what I am doing the engine will just quit and I have to pull over to the side of the road, turn the key off and then back on and it fires right up again. After getting back on the road it will do it a couple times only a few feet up the road. This will happen around 4 or 5 times then it will work fine sometimes for days on end before doing it again. The odd time when trying to start my truck it will not turn over and I have to push the gas peddal to the floor in order to get it to start, but that has only happened twice. I have put Methyl hydrate in the gas tank thinking it was water but that wasn't it. My check engine light has always been on so I thought I would get it checked out. All that came back was a P 1309 misfire error. I had to put in a shortblock a couple months ago. Before that this never happened to me. A friend of mine had the same problem with his Jeep and it was a wire going to the fuel pump.

My second problem is my 4 wheel drive. When I go to turn my button to 4X4 High all I can hear is a clicking noise and it will do this a couple times and then nothing. I am still in 2wd. I can put it in 4wd low and that works fine, but when I try turning it back to 4wd high all I hear is a clicking noise. Always seems to happen in cool weather but that might just be me.

Any help or suggestions with these 2 issues would be greatly appricated.

Best Regards
Ryan

Not sure about the first one as I would have somebody competent find the error but as for the second on the motor for the 4wd there is a switch that is supposed to tell it when to stop. It sounds like the switch is not telling it to stop correctly get this to a shop as if it stops mid gear you can tear the transmission or the transfer case out of the vehicle.
