1998 Ford Ranger throttle

The throttle seems to stick but I had the cable checked and the pedal all fine? What else could be wrong something with the throttle body?

Most likely cause is a dirty throttle body, I would check that out first and clean it up good plates and all. After that I would check and compare the tenstion on the butterfly valve with tension on a nother vehicle.

Very unlikely but possible the spring could be weakening.
