How do you remove the center nut holding the alternator pulley on? Is it reverse thread?

Also, are the ballbearings on the alternator shaft usually OK, after pulling them off w/ a pulley puller?

I am trying to replace the slip ring, as it is worn down to the white plastic in areas (have slip ring & new brushes). Will need to find a pulley puller?

Hi there,

Place the drive belt around the pulley and grip it in a vice, this will hold the pulley with out doing any damage, the nut should be R/H? Thread. I would replace the bearings a s they are cheap and can be stressed when removed with a puller.
