Out of the blue I can not start the engine. The battery sounds strong but all I get when I turn on the ignition switch is the starter trying to engage the engine. I suspect that it might be the safety switch on the clutch pedal that is not functioning.

If I am right, what should I do to confirm my suspicion? Do not want my mechanic to make a house call if I can solve this problem.

Anything else I should be looking for?
