I HAVE A 1993 FORD RANGER 2.3L W/ MANUAL TRANSMISSION W 142K. SUDDENLY LOST POWER, COULD NOT GET OVER 20 MPH. CHECKED COMPRESSION; ALL EXACTLY EVEN AT 170LBS. BOOK DOES NOT STATE WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE NEW, ???. CHECKED TIMING; SUPPOSED TO BE AT 10 DEGREES; IT'S FLUCTUATING BETWEEN 21-24 DEGREES. DOES A STRECTED BELT CAUSE THAT? OR WHAT? ALSO CHECKED THE EGR; CLEAN AND FUNCTIONING WHEN I SUCK ON IT. CHECKED THE EVR; IT'S BAD. I HAVE NOT REPLACED IT YET AS WHEN I CHECKED THE VOLTAGE ON THE EVR CONNECTOR WITH THE KEY ON; IT IS 12.5 VOLTS. BUT WHEN I IDLE; IT FLUCTUATES BETWEEN 14.7-19.2 VOLTS. IS THAT NORMAL? I DO NOT WANT TO REPLACE THE EVR UNLESS THAT READING IS NORMAL. CHECKED THE IAC; OK. CHECKED THE IAT; OK. CHECKED THE MAF; OK. AT IDLE, I BLOCKED THE INTAKE AND THE ENGINE DOES NOT DROP IN RPM.
