My 1990 ford ranger gets warm and it dies and it sits a few minutes and it starts then drives a few minutes and it dies again I tested coil with test light and it was good could my catalytic converter be stopped up please help

That is possible, but I am thinking an electrical problem may be the culprit too. I would try to mimic the situation again while your at home. When the car dies, immediately check for spark and fuel. This will determine which direction we need to go. Because there is only one way to test a catalytic converter. And it is quite a feat. We may as well check the other possibilities first.
