As I am driving, the truck is making a slight grinding noise as I accelerate. It doen't happen while I am shifting gears.

You mean the noise disappear when you have your foot on the clutch pedal...
I'm thinking you have a problem with your input shaft/shaft bearing.
You should get your transmission checked by a professional.
