When driving at speeds a bove 40 MPH the battery warnig light comes on & the battery charge indicator indicates that the charge rate voltage is lower than at slower speeds. A check with a voltage meter indicates the charge rate is normal atthe lower speeds but drops about one volt at the faster engine speed. What might be the cause of this? Thanks Mike

Could be a problem with the internal voltage regulator-recheck the alternator belt tension.

Or take it in and have the regulator bypassed and see what happens this will finger the regulator.
