When the truck is running in idle it runs perfectly, indefinately, but as soon as you start to go it starts spitting, sputtering, backfiring, and then it quits. At first it started doing this only when the engine began to warm up, now it starts doing it right off as soon as you start off. If you turn the truck off and let it sit for a little while it starts right back up again, but has to be in idle.
It has had a complete tune-up, spark plugs and wires new, distributor and cap replaced, fuel injectors checked and seem okay, rotar and cap replaced, new fuel filter. Checked for vacuum leaks and gas treated with Seafoam. Nothing helped whatsoever. Codes have not been checked yet, but will do that soon.
What else can be checked that might be causing this problem?
Forgot to mention that gas was checked for water and there was none.
Thanks C.D. Ryburn
