1985 Ford Ranger speedometer

everything appears to be working coming out of the transmission. cable does'nt seem to be broke. how much trouble is it to change the speedometer.

INSTRUMENT CLUSTER Removal Disconnect battery negative cable. Remove 2 screws attaching steering column shroud to panel. Remove shroud. Remove lower instrument panel trim. Detach cluster trim cover attaching screws and remove cover. Remove 4 screws attaching cluster to panel. Pull cluster slightly away from panel. 2) Disconnect speedometer cable at speedometer. If there is not enough room, detach cable at transmission. Disconnect wiring harness connector from printed circuit. Disconnect any light bulbs from sockets and remove instrument cluster. Check the gear at the tranny end before you start...not real hard to di this!
