I have been having problems with using my manual choke on my 1989 Automatic Ford Fiesta 1.1 (67,000miles). It cuts out when I stop at a junction even after a good 10 mins of driving with the choke out. Can you advise? I'm I using the choke incorrectly?

You must pull it out-and if set correctly give atleast 3 minutes and push it back in. Old school the choke plate should be fully opened in that time.

When its out you're choking it big time Note: The engine needs air just like us.

Check the choke cable. sometimes the choke cable sticks making the choke. Also it sounds like there is a gas problem or a stuck float. Check the idle adjustment.
