We purchased a 2008 Ford Taurus X in January and we have already had to bring it back twice because the right rear axle seal was leaking. I think they finally got it right this time but there is a noise that is bothering me. Most of the time when the car is in Drive, you here what is similar to a ticking noise coming from the engine (not a valve ticking, though). You can also feel it in the steering wheel and it is in sync with the noise from the engine. It goes away when the car is put in Park. When my wife asked about it, the Ford tech said it was supposed to do that. I was hoping you could shed some light on whether it is indeed normal or something else. Thank you.

Doesn't sound familiar, but you can go back to the dealer and try a different one there that is for sale and see if it does it. IF it doesn't, ask the tech why that one doesn't have the normal noise. May need to follow it up higher in the Ford hierachy.
