1994 Other Ford Models loss of drive.

I have a ford maverick, whilst driving loss of drive.could only get drive in 4th gear,then got drive in 1st then nothing at all. selected 4 wheel high and got 1st again the nothing. I have had a recon gear box put on the vehicle 18 months ago.

Hi there,

I presume that it is an auto box. The transfer will have nothing to do with selecting and drive through transmission, i would be taking it back to the conditioners, as there is an problem internally, i would be checking the oil level first and checking that the oil is in good condition , not smelling burnt. they may not want to know anything about it, but a reputable shop should stand by there work even with a late limited warranty as it is not that old.

Thank you for your reply,but i should have told you that it is a manual gear box and not an automatic.

I will have a think about the power flow through the box in different gears and re post

I've checked it 1st time I hear of a ford maverick being a 4WD originally its a sedan w/rear wheel drive. There's is no data on this vehicle at all

Could be synchronizers/output shafts
