Electrical problem
1992 Other Ford Models 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 150000 miles

I am beside myself with worry, these so called "mechanics", worked on my car I bought a new starter, and they stuck a wire that was wrapped with alluminum foil, can't that blow out your starter, also, how can I find out where the electric problem is without paying a fortune and not getting ripped off, since I am a girl.
Please help me ASAP,

Checked the battery, it takes a charge, and will start up great the first time, but then it won't start up a second time. Each time I drive it (very infrequently) just twice since I had this problem, I have to take the cables off the battery so it won't get drained, and hopefully start a next time, this guy he has good intentions put a 2 90 minute charge on my battery. I am so confused, I think I might need a new starter. Somebody please help me!!!
