I have a 1998 Ford Mustang GT, 4.6L V8. 102k miles.

The car overheated on a hot summer day. I found a blown radiator hose so I replaced the hose and topped off the coolant. It continued to leak coolant but this time through the coolant recovery reservoir, so I replaced that too. That didn't help. I'm also getting white smoke coming out of the exhaust. I suspected a blown head gasket, but there is no sign of coolant mixing with the engine oil. Car idles fine, just continues to leak coolant and blow out white smoke. What problem do I have? A few mechanics say I need a new engine.
