Changed fuel pump and it ran for 2 minutes

I have a 2003 Mustang GT 4.6l V8. One day out of the blue it just wouldnt start so I changed the fuel pump on a hunch. Once I changed the pump the car started and ran for about 2 min while blowing white smoke everywhere and running very rough. After 2 minutes it shut off and now wont start again. I didnt fill the new pump with fuel so not sure if there is air in the line possibly and how to get it out. Any ideas what may be wrong?

You can hear the fuel pump if u crawl under the car and listen but in those cars they are very hard to hear. When I went to start it this morning it cranked well but seemed to be struggling thats why I was wondering if air lock is a possibilty

You need to hook-up a fuel pressure gauge to check if it has the correct fuel pressure.

Do this crank engine over while listening to the fuel injector/s is it clicking? If not, you're not getting fuel. Could be the computer is missing the crank signal and not energizing the injector/s.

Also do this-disconnect a sparkplug wire from the plug and ground it to the engine while cranking engine over-Do you have spark.
