I have a 1993 ford mustang gt. I was running low on gas one day and right before I got to the gas station my car was hesistaing and kinda backfiring. I thought it was because I was low on gas. I put gas in it. And no help. I have since changed the fuel filter and in tank fuel pump. And still nothing. I have a fuel pressure guage on the car and it reads 20 psi. My car should run at about 42 psi (supercharged).

Now the thing is if I disconnect the mass air meter the car runs fine.( I have changed that out also). But still only runs on 20 psi.

Could it be my adj. Fuel pressure regulator?
I cannot increase fuel pressure.

When you unplug the MAF, the fuel pressure comes up to spec?

If the pump is not within specs, it won't run right. Sounds like a new pump is in order.
