2002 Ford Mustang 6 cyl Automatic 97500 miles

Stuck in park gear and cannot move shift lever. The button to release the gear shift will not go in, even when pressing hard on the brake pedal. Is there a manual release for the gear shift and how do I release it so I can get it moving and fixed?

Thank you for the fix information, but is there a way to manually release the gear shift? How do I do this so I can take it to get it fixed?

The simplest check is do the brake lights work? If not, it's a 20.00 BOO(brake on off) switch at the brake pedal.
