Whenever I slow down and push in the clutch, the rpm's drop to about 500 rpm. Very rarely, the car will actually cut off completely and I have to restart, but usually it just idles really really low. It makes the car shake when it does it too and I often wonder if it is going to cut off. It doesn't matter how far or short of a distance I drive, it doesn't matter if the air conditioning is on or off. I can't figure out what is causing the problem, and when I take it to the Ford place, they tell me that it isn't throwing a code, or that they cannot find anything wrong with it. Does anyone know what this could possibly be? It is really driving me crazy and makes me worried that there may be a bigger issue. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Check the idle air control valve, throttle position and mass airflow sensors to include the EGR valve

more than likely the IAC which controls the idle, you can remove it and clean with carb cleaner which will usually fix it, if not autozone has them in stock, not to worry... it's not the clutch.
