the other day i was driving my 97 mustang gt and it was acting funny. it has 3:83 gears, and a stock clutch. i started booking it on the interstate and the center console started smoking really bad and it smelled. then like 10 min later all the gears went out. and now no matter what gear im in my car just sits there like its in neutral. and i dont even have to push the clutch pedal in to put it in gear.....did my clutch go out? if so i need some guidance on how to change it. i already bought a clutch to be on the safe side...but there is noone around here to change it. help?

OK first check the clutch cable make sure it isn't broke. Then if you would pull up on the clutch pedal then push it down do you hear any click? Get back to me use the pm (person message) if needed.
