OK, I'm baffled. The fins in my water pump are curved, creating a "scoop", but they turn the opposite direction (back of fins moving forward). Is this correct? I have a 95 mustang 5.0 V8. The water pump runs counter clockwise due to the serpentine system (engine runs clockwise). I have checked every auto part store and the replacement pumps are all the same as mine.
NAPA says their's is a "clockwise" rotation, but one I found on AmericanMuscle.com that is listed as "Reverse-rotation: Counterclockwise"...but they are the SAME water pump!
I find it hard to believe that EVERY part store has the wrong water pump. Are the fins supposed to run with the back of the fin pushing against the water?
