Saw similar question on the forum. My mustang was low on gas, bought gas, then it barely made it home, cutting out, stalling at most intersections. Wow, bad gas???? Changed the fuel filter, started right up, idled fine for a few minutes, then back to the stalling. Neighbor says black smoke was pouring out and it's running too rich. How do I adjust the mixture without spending big bucks. Can't drive it to a mechanic and would hate to pay for a towtruck just to go a few blocks. Can't find a mobile repair company in San Carlos, CA........Any help would be appreciated!!

Running too rich could be caused by the following:

Possible causes include a bad O2 sensor, excessive fuel pressure (bad fuel pressure regulator or plugged return line), leaky fuel injectors, dirty air filter or restricted air inlet, or a defective coolant sensor that prevents the engine management system from going into closed loop mode.
