1995 Ford Mustang Alternator repair bill

Got stuck with my 1995 Ford Mustang v6 5spd 3.8 liter engine 106k. Car stalled out after jump and only ran for few miniutes. Was able to push into a Goodyear car center nearby.
THey told me my alternator was bad and charged me $360.00 part and 70.00 labor. I been told I might have been price guaged for the part by as much as $220 dollars. What should a repair like this cost?

That is quite steep not sure where you are but in missouri that alt would be around maybe 150.00 or less and labor 80.00 total 230.00 bad part about it is they got ya and not much you can do.

I have seen that altenator priced as high as $228.83. I would ask to see the repair shops receipt for the altenator. You can argue with them about it, but with a price mark up like that, spreading the word will do enough damage for this repair shop.
