Engine Cooling problem

my car is overheating when i put water in it i can only go about 12 miles then it is completly empy again,also smoking from being so hot.I looked on top of the motor where the hard water lines connect to the heater core hose by the fire wall and noticed alot of water coming from the corner of the head and manifold but it also looks like it could be coming from the hard line as well on the bottom spraying down on it.dont smoke no water in the oil dont smell like gas in the radiator.
