Hey there I drove this car all last year the new motor only has about 5 to 7 thousand miles. Most everything else has also been replaced. Last fall the engine started overheating. I had the alternator tested and it runs at 14amps. The overheating was only happening like every 2 weeks and it would run hot and then gauge would fall back down then run hot again. Eventually it would heat up rather quick maybe after 2 or 3 miles. Then the check engine light came on and it's been parked since december07. I started it today and let it run for about 10mins and it started getting hot and the guage was up to the o on normal and the car was parked the whole time. I think it's the fan clutch. I am taking it to the shop in 4 days and being a female I don't want to get taken for a water pump, blown head gasket or blinker fluid, LOL. Please help!

what year is this engine? if its a newer engine or at least an 89, I would test /replace the engine coolant temperature sensor first. because a faulty one will cause the same symptoms, I don't want to see you get taken either, some of those guys are savages and will do anything for an extra buck or two
