1985 Ford Mustang rust on heads

hi i have a 85 5.0 mustang its a project car and im in the process of cleaning the heads i dont want to spend a lot of money on new heads so im using the stock ones anyways the heads are full of rust im cleaning them with a lot of diffrent things mainly a buffer the heads are shinny new silver but the problem is they rust after about 2 or 3 days of sitting how can i prevent this i want them to look like this all the time even when the engine is complete and running i dont want to powdercoat them so i thought maybe there was some other way of keeping them like this?

Hi there, you won't have much luck with out painting as any treatment will soon burn off as they get very hot, high temp paint or power coating is your only real answer i feel.
