Engine Performance problem
1996 Ford Mondeo 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual
Hi,
There's a bit of everything in this question, sorry about that.
1. When I start the car, the engine revs go very high and slowly return to 'normal'.
2. The engine spins for quite a while and will not start unless I put my foot hard on the accelerator.
3. The engine appears to be running very hot although the temperature gauge does not move at all.
4. The engine cuts out after I have been driving for a while. This usually happens when I am slowiing down to take a bend. And although I am taking a right hand, the car tends to pull toward the left.
Oil and water are Ok but the car is about twelve years old, I am not sure if it is a six cylinder, I had trouble with the engine management computer about a year ago and they say that a second hand one was fitted.
The air filter has not be changed, nor the spark plugs
