Engine Mechanical problem
2004 Ford Focus 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 122K miles

Hello, my name is Lisa, & I have an 04 Ford Focus. I recently got into a very minor accident with my car trying to avoid another car making an illegal u-turn. My car jumped a curb about 3 to 4 inches high & hit a stop sign. There was just minor scrapes to the bumper but immediately after the accident the oil spilled from the bottom because I damaged the filter from the curb & now it doesn't start at all. I was initially told that the filter needed to be replaced & the car just needed a jump but that didn't work. My mechanic is now saying the the motor needs to be replaced because the filter was damaged & I drove the car literally half a block to my house after the accident. When I attempt to start it the battery seems fine because the radio, A/C, lights, etc turn on but it refuses to start at all. Do you think my mechanic may be right?

When you drove that half block do you hear engine knocking noises-You damaged the oil filter, you gonna lose engine oil real quick. If you can hear the starter engaging the engine and not turning it over, the engine is probably seized-up-let me know
