i have coolant leaking- little or no heat and excessive
water out of exhaust.

Water out of the exhaust is a by-product of clean combustion, unless it smells sweet I wouldnt worry about it. The coolant leak, you need to locate and repair, if the heater core doesnt have coolant in it, the heater wont work.
