Engine Mechanical problem
2002 Ford Focus 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My check engine light came on and after going to a local service center was told to replace the O2 sensor and disconnect the battery terminals. This worked and the light went off for about a day before coming back on. I undid the terminals again and the light went ou for another day. How can I get it off for good?

You have to fix the problem for good otherwise the light will come back every time. Disconnecting the battery only erases the DTC (diagnostic trouble code) the computer stored; it doesn’t fix the problem. When you took your car to the service center, what trouble codes did they find?
If you give me the code(s) I can try to help.
