2001 Ford Focus 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Ok, so I'm driving down the road (going 80mph if that matters?) And my ABS light turns on. I did not know what this meant so I go to call someone to ask, in the process of calling (not even enough time for them to answer) my car seems to be shuting down on me, but has not fully turned off. Everything on the dash stops working, my radio goes off, the lights get dimmer, and the car starts "chugging" down accross the overpass (its not a very busy road, and it was late at night) so I finallly make it across to the other side and I pull over & turn my car off. I try turning it back on and it wont start. About 5 mins later another car comes over to ask the problem and he asks me if to try and make it down the road to the gas station. I manage to get the car to start, but it is still chugging and the transmission makes a loud nosie if I go too fast, the dash and radio and stuff still arent working tho. I come to a stop sign and at the stop my car completly dies. I try to start it back up and it just makes a ticking noise at me. They push me across the street. I put it on the accessory thing to roll my windows up and the car barley has enough power to roll them up. When my friend gets there he trys to turn it on, you can hear it trying to turn on but it doesnt. We leave my car there over night and the next morning it starts up just fine, no issues, everything works. My friend still wants to tow it anyways, just in case, we get it around to the other side of the gas station and he lets it idle for a couple mins (its idleing just above the 1) and then the dash and stuff stop working. I turn the car off and try to turn it back on and it just ticks.

History:
Sometimes when I hit bumps my overhead lights flash at me and my door light flashes at me.
just recently had sensors replaced.
all fluids are good.
car has turned off on my 3 times before, but all times I was already at a complete stop and it always turned right back on.

I had this problem with a focus before and I traced this problem to the multiplug that goes into the fusebox in the passenger footwell. The owner of the car used to carry stuff there and it used to hit off the bottom of the plug. If this is the problem just push the plug back in.

Could be your alternator not working properly. Your vehicle may be running just on the battery. When it runs out of power the vehicle will start shutting down different systems until the car just dies. After sitting for a while, the battery will recharge a little, maybe enough to start the car, but I wouldn't rely on it for very long!
