My owner guide of my 2009 Ford Focus SE states I have a lifetime fuel filter and does not need to be change but I'm uncertain on what to do since it's due for a 30,000 maintenance and if I need to replace it where do locate the fuel filter?

It's part of the fuel pump module in the gas tank.

This video will show you how to change it out.

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

2001 Ford Focus 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

The low fuel light came on late last night after a long trip. After a fill-up and driving a few miles, the car shutdown at a stop sign. The relays and fuses checked good. The fuel pump was tripped, but checked good after reset. I bought a fuel filter, but I can't locate the old one. All help wil be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Crawl under your car on the passenger side.
Your filter should be right beside the fuel tank, in line with your fuel line (obviously :) )

It is right by your fuel tank with one line going in and another going out. It's not a hard job to replace but there's very little room to do it. Make sure to release the fuel pressure before you start.
