The idle rev's upto 3000 rpms while its in drive. Constantly have to keep foot on brake or it will go ahead without any acceleration. Dianogstics had 2 different codes and the mechanic said that one of the parts would be 500.00 but would not guarentee that it would solve the problem. Had the wiring fixed about 6 months ago at ford dealership. Is there anything else I can do than to take it back to dealership"\?

I'm not sure what part the mechanic told you would fix the problem, but I would take a serious look at the Idle Air Control Valve. I doubt that the part is that expensive, and to be honest it is something you could probably fix yourself. I would call your local auto parts store, and check the price, and maybe someone there could tell you exactly where the part is located. Hope this helps and good luck.

I had the same problem with my focus. Your car probably needs an idol control valve, the part is around 120 bucks. My mecanic fixed it for me for less than $200.
