Have the vehicle plugged into a diagnostic computer to check for fault codes stored

Check your fuel pump relay. Unplug the relay and start the car, it will start and then die when all the petrol has been burned away. Plug the relay back and then the problem will be gone. I just have trouble sometimes locating the relay.
