1997 Ford Fiesta Manual 110000 miles

Hi, I was driving into work this morning & heard a thud (no, I didn't hit something, the road looked clear) then the car beeped 3 or 4 times, with pauses inbetween. The car quite regularly cuts out when I brake at junctions etc. Coming down from around or over 50mph. Don't know if this might be related but worth mentioning. It's been fully serviced within the last few months & the cutting out seemed to improve but is gradually getting worse again.

When it cuts out, does it start right back up again or do you have to wait for a few minutes? HAs th echeck engine light ever come on? If so did you have it scanned for codes?

You will need to take the vehicle to have the PCM (computer) read for fault codes. This will give an understanding of where the fault actually lies. Without these we could be changeing parts without reason? Get the codes and repost for a diagnosis !

Hey, thanks for the responses. It starts back up no problem and I can sometimes get it to start without needing to turn the key if I have enough momentum & keep my feet balanced on the pedals until it kicks in. I'll take it somewhere to get the computer looked at.
