About 5 min after start up my dedicated Gas ford falcon ute Back fires during acceleration. This seems to be the only prob it is idling fine and only does it once or twice on each journey. It was serviced about 6000kms ago. Any ideas whats going on and could be damaging if not fixed straight away?

Hi there,

On the BA falcon, check that the inlet manifold is not leaking, normally at the rear of the engine, gas backfire is often lean mixture or cross firing leads and as you have DFI this will not be a problem.

Note if yours is a late AU check that the leads are ok as well as any manifold vacuum leak.
