I have a 1996 f350 manual 4x4 unleaded fuel. Last week I noticed that while I was driving about 60mph or so I stepped on the gas to pass a car and my rpm went sky high like I slipped out of gear but when I let off the gas a little bit it finally caught. Now when I start off in 1st gear or any gear for that matter my foot is alll the way off the clutch and my rpms to about 3000 before she starts to excelerate. Is it my tranny or clutch and pressure plate or do I need to learn how to drive all over again

Get underneath remove inspection plate and visibly check for wear on clutch but sounds like tranny is going out. How long has it been since tranny ( Earl ) change. Dont use trans repair oil you'll be throwing away money. Do you have problems shifting into first or reverse from a dead stop?

P/M me back with details
