I recently picked this 7.3 litre diesel 4x4 manual 5 speed up knowing it had that clutch issue. The one that causes the pedal frame and firewall to break into pieces. Well I made a new clutch pedal bracket I made it out of steel, and it is strong and does not flex. It still seems like it takes an awful lot of pressure to disengage that clutch. I have seen all the fixes to strengthen the bracket but I haven't seen anything addressing the incredible clutch effort. I would love to see the tsb's on this, or any other info available. I have mitchell on demand. Thank you all

If you have Mitchell on Demand, then you already have all the TSBs and any other info about it.

I saw your reply in feedback. You should post any replies here.

That truck uses a hydraulic clutch system so it's possible you may not be working with factory OEM components any more but there is no way to know. Somebody could have installed an extra heavy duty pressure plate or even the wrong clutch master cylinder. Pulling the trans and changing the clutch is about the only way to find out unless a previous owner can tell you.
