I have a 2001 F250 disel 4X4 automatic 7.3 liter with 82,000 miles. For the past two months the truck when idleing or when pulling into a store and apply brakes will quit, I can restart imediately without hesatation. This problem started when I traveld from Texas to Spoken Washington. There has never been a check engine light at this point. I recently changed the fuel filter and then took another trip to east Texas early into this trip I had problems with the Truck while at 70mph it seem to stop running and start again without having to restart, only this time the check engine light would come on. I read my manual and it stated that after changing the fuel filter the truck my burp or fart so I would stop the truck check everything and restart without having the check engine light reappear . Since then the truck will continue to die at low ideling or coasting speeds but the engine light does not come on. I have spoken to my shop , they said without the light they could not diagnose the problem. During normal running from state to state at speeds of 70mpg their is no problems. I have also noticed that when at a redlight the truck seems to surge alittle . I would appreciate any input.
Thanks
