Hello,
I have a 00', F-250, 5.4L, 150K mi.

Last week I noticed that my cruise control quit on me. The cruise control light blinks once then stays off. The speedometer works fine and the truck has not gotten any repairs. The only funny noises the truck makes and has been doing them for months is the heat shields on my exhaust they vibrate as I accelerate. Also. It might relate. Months ago I noticed that after I turn my ignition on and the power windows and wipers would not come on until about 30 sec. (Wierd huh?) And its still doing that. Don't bother me much but, should I be expecting a major malfunction soon? Please help with the cruise control. Since my foot is too heavy I'm bound to get a ticket soon!

Soon after this question, the cruise control started to work. Go figure. What should I check for?

Again it stopped working. I noticed that it works only when I am towing a trailer.I know its nuts to use it then, but it is the fact that I'm so used to it.

Im probably not going to be any help, but wasnt there a recall on f250 cruise controls, because of a malfunction with it going nutty? Ive been looking at info on my 99' and im going to check it out. You should too. I think it said cars built between 98 and 99, Since yours is a 00, it might have been affected.
