I have a 1979 f-250 4x4. The brakes have been ok since I got the truck. Me and the wife were out in the hills and on our way down you could smell the brakes alot. I stopped for a few mins to cool them down but once I started going down the pedal went completly to the floor and we were going so fast I cant believe that we got out of it but as we were going down the hill @ a high speed I was pumping the brakes and @ the bottom they got us to a stop but they were all the way to the floor and they still didnt do a good job. They have been fine up until today and I dont know why it happened? Are my brakes completly gone or what? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks all!

Check the brake fluid
You may have lost the fluid
The cause
Wheel cylinder brake line brake hose.
!
Braking system is very important if you are not familiar with it please have it checked by your local repair shop
Play it safe

Good luck
