I need to replace the engine air filter on my F-250 diesel. How do open the filter housing to access the old filter and add new filer? It seems impossible without damaging the plastic housing. Thanks

1.Release and remove the toggle clamps.
2.CAUTION: Rear cover tabs must be disengaged from the slots before pushing the rear cover or damage to the air cleaner element will occur. Disconnect the rear cover (clean side) from the filter element by pushing the cover to the rear and pulling up to disengage the tabs on the cover from the slots on the filter element.
3.Push the cover to the rear under the coolant reservoir and behind the slot feature on the filter element.
4.CAUTION: Front cover tabs must be disengaged from the slots before pushing the front cover or damage to the air cleaner element will occur. Disconnect the front cover (dirty side) from the filter element by pushing the cover forward and pulling up to disengage the tabs on the cover from the slots on the filter element while pulling up on the rear of the filter element.
5.Pull up on the filter element to remove.
6.To install, reverse the removal procedure.
*The end of the auxiliary hose should be placed back into the hole in the front cowl near the back of the headlamp. Check all hose and wiring positions.
