Engine Mechanical problem
1995 Ford F250 Automatic

I have an f250 turbo diesel that started surging I have narrowed it down to a fuel leak next to the oil pan with the motor running is is a fairly big drip right behind the fuel pan in front of the transmission. There is a cover but I have not taken it off yet can anyone tell me if there are fuel lines or a fuel connection to something in there. And what am I looking at and would that cause my truck to shudder and surge like it has

There sre fuel lines back there and yes if you have a fuel leak in a diesel it will surge and not run right because air is getting in the system. They are very tight in the back of the engine. A cool engine a light and a telescopic mirror will be very helpful in locating the fuel leak.
