1987 Ford F250 how do you take out transmission

what do you have to do to take out transmission ...i start the truck an its dumping transmission fluid

if you can put the car up on a lift, if not you will have to do it from under the truck on the ground and use woodblocks. if you put it up besure to use a tranny pedestal to hold it up. from there you disconnect the drive shaft from the tranny, unhook all the cables, and wireing's. then unbolt it and pull it backward till it drops down, its not light, be careful.
