1986 Ford F250 V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 200k miles

The truck ran well in 2000. It might have been run our oif gas when ir was parked for the last time. It just sat there for 8 years. I replaced the glow plugs, filter, got new bateries and put a in couple gallons of fuel. It's not even threatenting to start. I dont think it's getting gas. It's time to fix this problem and give the truck to my son for his business. Any help will be appreciated.

If the truck was not out of gas then the old gas could have varnished. Smell the fuel filler tube. You will definatly tell if there is bad gas in it. Has a varnish smell. After sitting for 8 years I would put some fuel cleaner in the tank, then add some more gas. Put a little gas down the carb and then try to start it. If it starts for a few seconds then the problem is the gas not getting tp the carb. disconnect the line going into the carb and spray everything with carb cleaner. When you turn the key on do you hear the fuel pump working? If not check the fuses to make sure one to the fuel pump is ok. When you get the truck to run for a few minutes then most of the time the old fuel will work iself out. WSometimes with old gas it will clog up the little valve in the gas bowl on the carb. Let me know how you make out.
