I replaced distributor cap, rotor, condenser. When it came time to replace points I noticed they sold me the wrong ones so I left the old ones for the time being. The carburator was running rich so I screwed the jets all the way in then I turned them 2 and a half turns each. I adjusted the idle. It sounded so sweet. I went back to the auto parts to get the right set of points, came back, gaped them at .017 and it won't start. I can see gas squirting in. It's not flooded. One thing to mention, when I was looking for the high point on the lobe, I was touching the solinoid to make the motor turn. Could I have burned the solinoid. The motor will turn as long as I hold the key but eventullly I let go of the key knowing it's not going to start. Thank You

Set the point gap on the high side of the distributor cam lobe-you don't have to crank the engine over-just loosen the distributor hold down and set it . Might not be getting spark due to the point gap/best way to adjust the points is using a dwell meter
