Bob & Ken,
I've replaced my transmission on my 1987 f-150, 2wd/4sp. MT with a used one. My speedometer was acting up before hand being 5mph fast and bounced a little. Afterwords, it quit all together. So I replaced the cable and all it would do is try to work for a second when I shifted into 3rd. So I just changed the sensor @ the trans. and got nothing at all. Before I changed the cable, I made sure the speedometer itself worked by hand. What am I missing? Is there something in the transmission I need to change or what? Also, recently every time I push in the clutch it makes the same whine as the typical Ford power steering does. Clutch and trans, and p/s fluids are full. Please help before I pull what I have left of my hair out !!!
Thank you.
