1993 ford f150, 302, 114,000 miles. I have located the fuel filter, removed the retaining clips, but cannot get the fuel lines to come off. Wiggling and force dont seem to work. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks, Mike

Does the fan come on and stay on if you keep wiggling the wires or will it shut off and on, if it shuts off and on while wiggling the wires, (chances are the wire is wiggling enough while you are driving to lose connection) then it is more than likely the connector, unplug the connector and clean it out, and see if this fixes your problem

No the fans do not stay on after wiggling the wire connector. I will try unplugging the connector and cleaning it out and let you know if this works.
Thanks

Are you using the special fuel line tool? If not, go to the parts store and tell them what you are working on. The tool is 5-10 bucks.

If you are using the tool then I have heard of guys tapping lightly on it to release the clips. Some seem to struggle with the filter and some guys say it was easy. Maybe depends on the tool you are using.
