1. Make and Model: 2002 ford f150
2. Current odometer reading 80000
3. Automatic Transmission
4. Strange sounds or smells (if any) none
5. Fluid leaks (if any) none

The truck starts normally but when you go to shift gears it will not shift. I tryed to shift it with the truck off and it still wont shift. I havent had a problem with the transmission ever and the fluid are up to part. I checked the fuses and they seem good. Do you know what the problem could be. And if so do you know how to check if that is the problem.

Try this. Engage the emergency brake, and disconnect the shift cable on the transmission. 2 checks: 1- insert your key and try to shift. This will tell you if the steering column is working properly by shifting through each gear with no binding. 2- try to shift the trans by hand with the cable off. If it doesn't move, you have in internal trans problem.
